Dancing to my tunes!!!

I never thought I will write about this… But then life is all about doing something you never thought of doing…
The opening sentence is…no second thoughts…I’ll stick to it.
As one of my friends recently described Dance as the best stress buster, I could not agree more with him. Dancing surely makes you relaxed and leaves you happy from the heart. Even if you are in a bad mood…rather sad…switch on the music…maybe soft rock and move to it…in few minutes you will be ready to dance to all sorts of tunes!!!
With this conversation we had, I went back to the days when DANCE changed my relationship with my little brother. Some credit will go to my dance ideals as well. As a child I was always inspired to dance because my family members…all love to dance…though the style is yet to be known to the human kind!!!
Madhuri Dixit and Hrithik Roshan are two names that inspired me to dance…actually both of them have inspired dance to the whole generation I guess. The movie “Main Madhuri Dixit Banana chati hoon” is actually a story of every girl who saw her dancing. But truly everyone is not the Madhuri Dixit and can’t dance the way she danced. And many don’t become dancers like her…though we all may want to.
Madhuri Dixit was the Dhak Dhak girl in 1991-92…when I was just 5-6 years old and hardly knew anything about sex and stuff, but when I can remember dancing to it and buying lot of orange dresses!!!
Life is all about watching TV and imitating the steps, from maye ni maye to ankhiya milayu kabhi to Que sara to Mardala…Never missed any step or any dress!!!
No one entered Bollywood as did Hrithik Roshan…heartthrob of the nation….the millennium star…Greek God with TFH factor…Adonis with grey eyes…Handsome hunk are few names given by media which I’m able to recall at the moment. And there was no denial to the names given…every song of KNPH was a hit and the choreography was breathtaking and refreshingly good!!!
All boys wanted to be known as Hrithik Roshan and shed away being Salman Khan…all girls had his posters on their room walls…I had four posters to his in my room J much to my mom’s displeasure!(She liked Aamir Khan back: P) All young were seen wearing those frameless glasses even if their eye sight was 6X6…those glasses were a rage and so was the Ek pal ka jeena dance!!!
And surprising the war between me and my brother ended…we both liked Hrithik…earlier it was me liking SRK and he was big fan of Salman Khan!!! And the arguments we use to have about them…usually ended in physical fights…where he was hurt and I was scolded most the times…Hrithik came to us like a peace pigeon and we both gave away the hatred and acknowledged we are siblings and love each other!!!
I use to dance in all parties and family get together, was appreciated and awarded money too…so officially I was to make him learn the steps from KNPH!!! It seemed as if I had hit some jackpot…I got the decision making power in our relationship and bought so many Cassettes and CDs with all new songs from our pocket money…otherwise all his money went in buying tennis balls or cork balls to play cricket!!!

  2. With subject to above mentioned, I would say being a dancer that while I dance I can not judge, I can not hate, I can not separate myself from life. I can only be joyful and connect myself to music. This is why I dance.
